Aura x Another Aspect: our La Marinière collaboration
For its first collaboration, Aura reinvents a piece from where we come from with Another Aspect: the marinière, in Japanese cotton, in an edition of 50.
On 27 June 2026, Aura released its collaboration with Another Aspect: La Marinière, made with the Copenhagen label Another Aspect. Fifty pieces of a striped long-sleeve T-shirt in Japanese cotton jersey, knitted and made in Japan.
For a first collaboration, we didn’t want just any piece. Here is why the marinière, why Another Aspect, and what you need to know about this limited edition.
Why the marinière?
We are Breton. The marinière is an iconic piece from where we come from: first a French Navy garment in the 19th century, then workwear along the coast, before it became a wardrobe classic.
For a first collaboration, reinventing a piece from our own culture made more sense than inventing a product from scratch. The marinière was the obvious choice: everyone knows it, and hardly anyone makes it really well.
Why Another Aspect?
Another Aspect is part of the Aura selection. The Danish label builds basics with rare precision: Japanese fabrics, careful finishing and cuts dialled in to the millimetre.
Their Another T-Shirt 3.0 JPN, in cotton knitted in Japan, is one of their most recognisable pieces. It is the base the marinière was built on. We brought the idea and the pattern; they brought the fabric and the making.
The piece
A long-sleeve T-shirt in Japanese cotton jersey with a dry hand, navy stripes with an irregular finish, a double-stitched neck rib and a contrasting collar band. The fit is regular, slightly cropped.
100% cotton knitted in Japan, made in Japan. Limited to 50 pieces, released on 27 June 2026 in our Rennes store and on aura-estore.com.
How to wear it
La Marinière works on its own in spring and as a layer in autumn, under a work jacket, a short blouson or a straight coat. With raw denim or loose chinos, it holds the silhouette together effortlessly.
Our advice: as the fit is slightly cropped, take your usual size for a regular fit. The size guide is on the product page.
