G.H. Bass est une marque de chaussures américaine fondée en 1876 à Wilton, dans le Maine, par George Henry Bass. D'abord spécialisée dans la fabrication de chaussures robustes pour les fermiers et bûcherons locaux, la marque entre dans l'histoire en 1936 en créant la Weejun, le tout premier penny loafer au monde. Inspirée d'une chaussure de fermier norvégien, revisitée avec la fameuse découpe pour y glisser un penny, la Weejun devient rapidement un incontournable du vestiaire américain.
