G.H. Bass Weejun Heritage Larson loafer in polished black leather, hand-stitched moccasin construction with waxed thread. Leather sole with rubber heel, unlined interior with leather insole and gold branding. A classic of the men's wardrobe since 1936, made in El Salvador.

The Larson is THE penny loafer. G.H. Bass invented the style in 1936 and the construction hasn't changed: a single piece of leather wrapped around the last, hand-stitched with waxed thread. The leather sole can be re-soled; it's the kind of shoe that ages with you. In black, it goes with everything, from rolled-up jeans to a suit.

G.H. Bass est une marque de chaussures américaine fondée en 1876 à Wilton, dans le Maine, par George Henry Bass. D'abord spécialisée dans la fabrication de chaussures robustes pour les fermiers et bûcherons locaux, la marque entre dans l'histoire en 1936 en créant la Weejun, le tout premier penny loafer au monde. Inspirée d'une chaussure de fermier norvégien, revisitée avec la fameuse découpe pour y glisser un penny, la Weejun devient rapidement un incontournable du vestiaire américain.
Charles Lindbergh porte des Bass lors de sa traversée de l'Atlantique en 1927, Michael Jackson chausse des Weejuns noires dans le clip de Thriller en 1982. Près de 150 ans plus tard, G.H.
