Kappy Design: the Korean one-size brand, a guide to its fits and sizing
One garment, one size: Kappy Design, from Seoul, designs its trousers for a 66 to 90 cm waist. Who it fits, how it sizes, which fit to choose: the Aura guide.
Kappy Design is a Seoul brand founded in 2020 around a simple and slightly radical idea: one garment, one size, for everyone. “Sizeless, genderless, timeless”. Wide pleated trousers, workwear shirts, fleeces, reversible jackets: everything is unisex and everything comes in one size.
The question that holds people back before buying is obviously: will it fit me? The short answer: according to the brand's official guide, all Kappy trousers are designed for a waist of 66 to 90 cm (26 to 35 inches) and people up to 1.88 m tall. Our model, 1.80 m and 65 kg, wears the one size in every piece. Here is how it works, which fits exist, and which one to choose.

What is Kappy Design?
Kappy Design is a lifestyle brand born in Seoul in 2020. Its company is called Sunrise Club, a name you will find embroidered on its caps and beanies. Its concept fits into three words the brand repeats everywhere: sizeless, genderless, timeless. No sizes, no gender, no trends that make a garment obsolete in six months.
In practice, Kappy designs pieces with loose volumes and fluid lines, in soft fabrics, so that the same pattern adapts to different body types. The clothes are designed and made in South Korea. The wardrobe is an everyday one: pleated trousers, work shirts, garment-dyed sweatshirts, fleeces, reversible vests, caps.
What holds it all together is a precise Korean aesthetic: wide proportions that never look sloppy, slightly faded pigment colours, and a sense of useful detail, such as elasticated waistbands, built-in straps, fatigue pockets, and a buttoned collar instead of a drawcord.
How does Kappy's one size work?
Three things make the one size possible at Kappy.
The elasticated waistband. All the trousers have an elasticated waistband, complemented depending on the model by a built-in buckle strap (Two Tuck Wide), a drawcord (Heavy Cotton Fatigue) or a zip and button fly (One Tuck Fatigue). The waist is adjusted, not chosen.
The volumes. The fits are wide or relaxed: loose through the thighs and hips, with pleats at the waist that absorb the difference between a French size 38 and a 44. On a slim build, the trousers fall wide. On a sturdier build, they fall straight. Both are the intended look.
Washing after making. The pieces are washed once sewn, which sets the shape and limits shrinkage. What you try on in store is what you will wear.
Kappy's official guide sums it up like this: all the trousers are designed for waists of 66 to 90 cm and people up to 1.88 m tall. In French sizing, this roughly covers trouser sizes 36 to 46. Below a 66 cm waist, the strap takes up the slack but the volume will be very wide. Above 90 cm, the waistband may pull and the fit loses its ease: it is better to try them on in store.
The measurements that matter
To get a picture, here are the flat measurements of the Two Tuck Wide Denim Pants, based on figures published by a stockist of the brand, converted into centimetres:
Waist at rest: about 66 cm, very stretchy, with an adjustment strap
Inseam: 76 cm
Total length: 105 cm
Front rise: 33 cm
Thigh width: 39 cm
Leg opening: 23.5 cm
What to take from this: a 76 cm inseam is a standard length that sits on the shoe at 1.80 m and breaks slightly below that height. Above 1.85 m, the trousers stop at the ankle: that is consistent with the cut, not a flaw. And a 39 cm flat thigh is wide: the Two Tuck Wide is not a slim trouser that adapts, it is a loose trouser that adjusts.
For tops, shirts, sweatshirts and jackets, the logic is the same: a relaxed fit designed to go from S to XL. On our 1.80 m, 65 kg model, the tops fall loose, like a piece worn one size up. That is the intended effect.
The Kappy fits to know
Two Tuck Wide Pants: the signature fit
Two pleats at the waist, a wide straight leg, an elasticated waistband with a built-in strap. This is the trouser that made Kappy known. At Aura, in raw deep indigo denim, in black denim and in purple cotton twill, cationic dyed then bio-washed for a vintage look.
One Tuck Fatigue: the military trouser, loose version
A single pleat, four fatigue-inspired pockets, a zip and button fly on an elasticated waistband, an embroidered logo on the back. In high-density corduroy, it is the collection's winter trouser: charcoal or beige.
Fatigue CN and Heavy Cotton Fatigue: fatigues for summer and the transitional seasons
Same military spirit, two fabrics. The khaki Fatigue CN is made from a light, crease-resistant cotton and nylon blend, for warmer days. The cream Heavy Cotton Fatigue is made from high-density cotton twill, with a drawcord, and is more structured.
Washed Loose Denim and Pigment Sweatpants: the relaxed pair
The mid blue Washed Loose Denim is a medium-weight washed jean with a loose fit, for all year round. The Pigment Sweatpants are the collection's joggers, garment dyed.
The shirts: work shirt, corduroy, flannel
The Stripe Pocket Work Shirt (navy or ivory) is a striped work shirt in dense 40s cotton, with action pleats at the back and a relaxed fit. The Pigment Corduroy Shirt (brown or charcoal) is in pigment-dyed corduroy, with two chest pockets and a rounded hem. The flannel check shirts complete the autumn-winter range.
Jackets and fleeces
The Fleece Bomber Jacket (brown or red), the Fleece Zipper Vest (oatmeal or black), the reversible check nylon vest and the Canvas Work Shirt Jacket, a canvas overshirt. All one size, all unisex.
Which Kappy trousers should you choose?
For a first Kappy: the Two Tuck Wide Denim deep indigo (€175). The signature fit, raw denim treated against colour transfer so it does not stain your trainers, and the strap that adjusts the waist.
To replace black jeans: the One Tuck Fatigue in charcoal corduroy (€180). Warmer, smarter, and the corduroy develops a real patina.
For summer and travel: the Fatigue CN khaki (€180), light, crease-resistant, in the classic fatigue colour.
For a colour: the Two Tuck Wide Kation purple (€180). The cationic dyed twill gives a faded violet, easy to wear with grey, black or ecru.
Pigment dye, corduroy, denim: Kappy's fabrics
Pigment dyeing is Kappy's signature. Instead of dyeing the yarn or the cloth before cutting, the colour is applied to the finished garment. The result: uneven tones, an already worn-in look, and a colour that keeps evolving with washing. Each piece is slightly different from the next. You will find it on the sweatshirts, the joggers, the striped long sleeve and the corduroy shirt.
Corduroy comes in two weights: a 10-count cotton corduroy on the shirts, and a high-density 30-count corduroy on the fatigue trousers, tighter and more hard-wearing.
The denim of the Two Tuck Wide is 100% raw cotton, heavy, and treated against colour transfer: the indigo stays on the jeans, not on your shoes or your sofa.
The fleece used for the bombers, vests and trapper hats is soft and medium weight, designed for layering rather than extreme cold.
How to wear Kappy
Kappy is about volume. The only rule is to control it.
One volume at a time. Wide trousers, fitted or tucked-in top: a heavy T-shirt tucked into a Two Tuck Wide, a shirt buttoned all the way up. Or the reverse: a loose fleece bomber over straighter trousers. Two wide volumes stacked together also works, but you have to own it.
Shoes that hold the volume. A 23.5 cm leg opening calls for a shoe with presence: thick-soled trainers, Diemme boots, G.H. Bass loafers with thick soles. A slim shoe under wide trousers makes the whole silhouette collapse.
Play with textures. Corduroy over denim, fleece over canvas, washed pigment over raw. Kappy works its colours in faded tones: grey, beige, brown, navy, with a touch of red, orange or violet. Stay within the same family and let the fabrics do the rest.
Three Kappy outfits
Everyday. Two Tuck Wide Denim deep indigo, heavy white T-shirt tucked in, oatmeal Fleece Zipper Vest, white trainers. Volume at the bottom, lightness at the top.
Winter. charcoal corduroy One Tuck Fatigue, brown Pigment Corduroy Shirt buttoned up, brown Fleece Bomber, boots. Three fabrics, two colours, one brand.
The mix. Two Tuck Wide Kation purple, grey sweatshirt, a GORE-TEX jacket from nanamica on top, trail shoes. Korean volume meets Japanese technical wear. nanamica's story and its link with Goldwin are covered in our nanamica article.
Why Aura stocks Kappy
Because one size is not a gimmick at Kappy, it is a method. The fits are designed for it, the waistbands are built for it, and the result sits right on very different body types. We have checked it in store, on our customers, not on a spec sheet.
Because the price matches the making: between €150 and €180 for trousers designed and made in South Korea, garment washed, in dense fabrics.
And because Kappy brings to the Aura wardrobe something the other brands do not have: Korean volume, a way of wearing things wide without looking sloppy. Alongside the French workwear of Le Laboureur and the Japanese technical wear of nanamica, it is a third way of building a silhouette. For the moleskin work jacket, see our Le Laboureur guide.

Frequently asked questions about Kappy sizing
How does Kappy Design fit?
In one size. According to the official guide, all Kappy trousers are designed for a 66 to 90 cm (26 to 35 inch) waist and a height of up to 1.88 m, thanks to an elasticated waistband and a loose cut. The tops have a relaxed fit designed to go from S to XL.
Who does Kappy's one size fit?
Most builds between a French trouser size 36 and 46. Our model, 1.80 m and 65 kg, wears the one size with a wide fit. A sturdier build will wear it straighter. Above a 90 cm waist or 1.88 m in height, trying it on in store is better.
Are Kappy trousers long?
The inseam of the Two Tuck Wide Denim is about 76 cm, for a total length of about 105 cm. The trousers sit on the shoe at 1.80 m and stop at the ankle above 1.85 m.
Is Kappy unisex?
Yes. Every piece is designed without distinction between men and women; that is the brand's “genderless” principle.
Where are Kappy clothes made?
In South Korea, where the brand is based. The pieces are designed in Seoul and made in Korea.
Do Kappy clothes shrink in the wash?
The trousers and shirts are washed after making to limit shrinkage. Wash cold and dry flat or on a hanger, without a tumble dryer. Pigment-dyed pieces keep evolving in colour, and that is intentional.
Where can I buy Kappy Design in France?
